Compassion
Compassion would follow as my second pillar because I believe that effective leaders recognize the vulnerability of the members of their organization. Simple displays of kindness and concern would allow the members of my organization to take ownership in their duties as they would feel more essential. Personally, I have always worked harder for those leaders who I felt believed in me and wanted to see me succeed within my station simply because I did not want to disappoint that person. The pandemic time that we are currently dealing with unquestionably provides an opportunity for leaders to be compassionate towards their team. People everywhere are dealing with unimaginable situations that have sort of become a shared experience for us all.
